Chad Valley Dominoes (wooden, Double Sixes) in original box, c.1950s (SOLD)

A c.1950s vintage set of Chad Valley Dominoes (Double Sixes), in black dyed wood with white painted dots and moulded design featuring a lion and the words "BRITISH MADE" to the reverse of each tile, complete with original cardboard box, by The Chad Valley Company Ltd., Harborne, England ("By appointment, Toy makers to H.M. Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother").  The box, which measures approximately 17.8 x 5.6 x 4.3cm (7 x 2.2 x 1.7in), is very worn, marked and discoloured with old tape repairs; the tiles themselves, which each measure approximately 4.6 x 2.4 x 0.9cm (1.8 x 0.95 x 0.35in), have some age wear and marking but remain perfectly usable.
