An early 20th century edition of the classic maritime novel set in Greenwich, originally published in 1840. The inside front cover bears a school prize label dated 1912; the recipient has written his name and address in ink upon the front endpaper. No dustjacket; the cover is marked and discoloured with age wear (especially to the edges and corners); the front endpaper is very much browned with foxing and slight tearing to the lower edge, and the rear endpaper is missing; the pages are discoloured with tanning to the edges, foxing (especially to the pages near each end of the volume) and edge and corner wear including occasional slight creases and edge tears; there is some weakness to the binding at the front of the volume.
