Captain Marryat, "Masterman Ready, or The Wreck of the "Pacific", Written for Young People" (London etc., Blackie and Son Limited, n.d., c.1920s).  Hardcover (red cloth boards with embossed design to front and spine), 232pp plus four colour illustrations and 32-page publisher's catalogue, measuring approximately 12.8 x 18.6 x 3cm (5.05 x 7.3 x 1.2in).  An early twentieth century edition of this classic seafaring adventure story, first published in 1841.  No dustjacket; the spine is very much faded with discoloration and marking, whilst there is some marking and discoloration to the remainder of the cover (mainly around the edges) together with wear and bumping to the corners and slight wear to the edges; there is considerable browning to the inside covers and endpapers, the front endpaper bearing the original owner's name in ink together with a code and an old pre-decimal price in pencil; the pages are discoloured with considerable foxing (mainly to the page edges and end papers) and other marks plus slight edge and corner wear.
