A vintage Canadian Kodak Box Brownie "No. 0 Brownie Camera Model A", made in Canada by the Canadian Kodak Co. Ltd, Toronto, and measuring approximately 10.6 x 8.7 x 6.5cm (4.15 x 3.45 x 2.55in), with its (presumably original) brown heavy duty fabric carrying case with green lining and leather strap. Judging by the information given on this page of a dedicated Brownie website, this camera, which took No. 127 film, probably dates from between 1917 and 1928; three U.S. patent dates are printed in red to the inside of the camera, which, although only semi-legible, appear to be 1902 or 1903, 1909 and 1916. The wood of the hinged front panel of the camera has split along the grain, whilst there is some general age wear together with rust to the metal parts; the case, which has a somewhat faded inscription (giving the name of a school in the Isle of Wight) in ink to the inside, is very worn with considerable discoloration and marking including rust stains. Please note that this is sold as a collector's item only, and not as a working camera!
