Brown mottled Bakelite darning mushroom (SOLD)

This c.1930s brown mottled Bakelite darning mushroom, with lid which unscrews to allow internal storage of darning needles, measures approximately 9.5cm long, the lid being about 7.1cm in diameter.  The inside of the lid is marked "MADE IN ENGLAND".  It is in very good condition apart from some light surface scratching resulting from use, a tiny rough patch to the centre of the lid, and some slight roughness / nibbling to the edge, which perhaps dates from manufacture.
