A carnival glass comport / compote by the German firm of Brockwitz, dating from the early part of the 20th century, in the "Tartan" (a.k.a. "Daisy and Cane") pattern, measuring approximately 18.8cm (7.4in) in diameter and 12.1cm (4.75in) in height; the upper section / dish is in marigold with some iridescence around the edges, whilst the stem is tinted pale orange and the foot is clear. There is some age wear including scratching to the surface and some nibbling and roughness (which may date from manufacture) to the base edge; there are some minor imperfections including a few small air bubbles and some roughness in finish (most noticeable to the foot), whilst four moulding seam lines are clearly visible to the foot and to the underside of the dish.
