A pottery dinner plate in green-grey glaze, measuring approximately 23.5cm (9.25in) in diameter, plain ordinary in appearance except that the printed stamp to the base incorporates the British Rail logo, together with the Kitemark (BS 4034), a code which appears to read "11-80" (which may well be the date of manufacture) and the words "VITRIFIED TABLEWARE / DUDSON BROTHERS LTD". There is some wear and scratching to the surface resulting from use.
