Brentleigh Ware oval dish with handpainted fruit and flower design, c.1930s

A vintage Brentleigh Ware oval dish, c.1930s, measuring approximately 34.7 x 15.5 x 3.1cm / 13.65 x 6.1 x 1.2in (max), in pale green and off-white glaze with hand-coloured fruit and flower design in relief to the centre; the base bears a green printed "Brentleigh / Ware / STAFFORDSHIRE / ENGLAND" stamp.  The glaze is finely crazed throughout with considerable pale brown staining to both sides, together with age wear including scratching and abrasion to the surface and wear and marking to the foot; there are various manufacturing imperfections including two small unglazed patches to the rim, together with tiny bumps, pinholes, craters, spots and other marks in the glaze.
