A bowl-shaped Dutch ceramic gin / liqueur advertising ashtray, age unknown (perhaps 1970s), measuring approximately 10.9cm (4.3in) in diameter at the base and 4.4cm (1.75in) in depth, and finished in greenish-blue shiny glaze; the words "GENEVER / LIQUEURS / BOLS" appear in relief around the upper edge, whilst the inside bears a portrait in relief to the centre, surrounded by the words "LUCAS BOLS / Ao. 1575". The base is marked with the (not fully decipherable) printed stamp of a pottery in Gouda, Holland. There are numerous small manufacturing irregularities to the surface, together with some scratching to the surface and age wear to the foot.
