A vintage Beswick Ware runner bean leaf-shaped dish, c.1950s-60s, measuring approximately 31.5 x 13.8 x 4.3cm / 12.4 x 5.45 x 1.7in (max), in graduated green glaze (off-white to the central underside) with handpainted deep red flower decoration; the base bears a gilt "Beswick / Ware. / MADE IN / ENGLAND." script mark together with the impressed stamp "BESWICK . ENGLAND / 221" (which denotes a piece manufactured between 1954 and 1971) and the handpainted code number "8306 / 61". There is crazing to most of the surface, together with age wear including several scratches and small patches of abrasion to the surface, slight marking to the painted flowers, and wear and marking to the foot; there are various manufacturing imperfections including several small lumps and bumps, tiny spots and other marks in the glaze, a small unglazed area to the edge of the leaf tip, and some glazed-over chips to the foot.
