A c.1950s-60s vintage Beswick Cottage Ware handpainted cylindrical teapot, measuring approximately 16cm (6.3in) in height including lid, 18.5cm (7.3in) across including handle and spout, and 11cm (4.35in) in diameter at the base, which bears a grey "Beswick / Ware. / MADE IN / ENGLAND" script mark together with the impressed mark "BESWICK . ENGLAND / 241" (which denotes a piece produced between 1954 and 1971) and a small handpainted mark. The glaze is crazed throughout with patches of staining (especially to the inside of the spout), whilst there is some slight surface wear including some tiny spots and patches of abrasion to the glaze, together with some marks to the interior; there are various irregularities in the handpainted decoration together with imperfections in the glaze including spot marks, occasional tiny bumps and pinholes.
