A crested china shaving mug, c.1900-20, moulded in a fancy shape, in white and slightly lustrous pink with gilt decoration and "Bath" crest to one side. The mug, which bears no maker's mark (although there is a faint impressed or incised number to the base), measures approximately 10cm (3.95in) in height, 16cm (6.3in) across from handle to spout, and 10.1cm (4in) in diameter at the base. The area around the spout may have been restored, judging by its different surface feel in comparison to the rest of the mug and some imperfections to the edge, whilst there is some slight surface wear and marking, including a few scratches, slight wear to the gilt and age marking to the foot; there are various manufacturing irregularities in the glaze, decoration and moulding.
