Art Deco wood and chrome table lamp, c.1930s

An Art Deco table lamp (without shade), c.1930s, measuring approximately 36.2cm (14.25in) in height and 15.5cm (6.1in) wide at the base (max).  The lamp, which may have been the product of a home workshop, has a square varnished oak base with central fins, square-section chrome stem (with wood core), and a small square of brown-painted wood on which is mounted the lampholder. The lamp has been newly rewired, with new flex (approximately 2.3m / 7.5ft long) and UK plug; the switched lampholder is the original, and is still in good working order although there is some wear to the chrome finish.  There is some slight bumping and scratching to the base, which has a degree of patination; the chrome stem is lightly pitted with a slight bulge or internal dent near the top of one side, and some brown paint marks at the top edges.

Please note that, since this is a vintage lamp, it is unlikely to conform to current regulations, and it is therefore sold as a decorative item only.  We therefore recommend that this lamp is tested by a qualified electrician prior to use.
