An Art Deco flower vase in deep blue glass, textured to most of the exterior with gilt and enamel decoration, complete with a detachable metal flower holder / grid which is brass plated to the outside. The vase, which dates from the 1920s or 1930s, measures approximately 13.5cm (5.3in) in diameter and 11.8cm (4.65in) in height excluding the flower holder, which itself measures approximately 8.5cm (3.35in) in diameter. There is a very small chip to the rim, together with several tiny fleabites or nibbles, most of which evidently date from manufacture since they are covered by gilt, and there are various surface marks to the exterior, together with slight wear to the gilt decoration and slight loss / chipping to the enamel decoration (a few dots are missing). There is considerable age wear / scratching to the foot, and some marking and scratching to the interior, whilst the flower holder is worn and marked with age. This vase nevertheless remains an unusual and attractive piece, especially when the light shines through it, and would be particularly suitable for an Art Deco style bedroom.
