Art Deco pottery jug vase in blue-green glaze with brown mottling, c.1930s

A c.1930s vintage pottery jug vase of distinctively Art Deco shape, moulded with horizontal banding, in bluish-green semi-matt glaze with coffee-brown mottling, measuring approximately 17.7cm (6.95in) tall and 7.7cm (3.05in) in diameter at the base; the base bears the dark blue printed stamp "MADE IN / ENGLAND" together with painted and incised numbers.  The surface is crazed throughout, with staining to the craze lines in places together with slight marking and surface wear; there is a small chip (approximately 0.6 x 0.4cm / 0.25 x 0.15in) to the base edge together with a couple of small glaze chips to the top edge, whilst there is a possible horizontal hairline crack near the top opposite the handle (the length of which is uncertain as it joins up with the crazing); there are some manufacturing imperfections including a pair of short parallel fault lines to the base edge, occasional tiny bumps and other minor irregularities in the glaze, and a small cluster of glazed-over lumps to the base of the interior.
