A small Art Deco hanging bowl (or "flycatcher") lampshade / light shade, c.1930s-40s, measuring approximately 26.5cm (10.45in) in diameter and 12cm (4.7in) deep excluding hooks, in shiny peach opal glass (consisting of a layer of peach glass to the exterior and a thin clear layer to the interior with a white opal layer sandwiched between) with a somewhat faded and worn repeat floral pattern and a pair of similarly worn horizontal gilt bands. Included with this shade is a set of three chrome hooks and hanging chains (which may or may not be original to this shade, although they are certainly of the same vintage), each measuring about 20cm (7.85in) in length. There is some surface wear to the shade including scratching, scuffing and slight marking, in addition to the wear to the decoration already mentioned; there is some nibbling and roughness to the edges of the rim (some of which may date from manufacture), together with minor imperfections in the glass including slight unevenness to the surface; there is some rust to the chains and hooks.
