A c.1930s pendant lampshade / light shade, typical of those originally used in many ordinary homes of that era, in deep orange and white flaked glass with clear veining, measuring approximately 13.5cm (5.3in) in height and 14.6cm (5.75in) in diameter. An original code and pre-decimal price (possibly 7/9) can be seen faintly written upon the top of the shade. The lampholder hole is of standard size for this type of shade (approximately 2.9cm / 1.15in in diameter), and thus the shade will fit a standard UK plastic pendant lampholder. The lower edge of the shade is somewhat rough with some nibbling and shallow chipping, whilst there are the usual nibbles around the lampholder hole (not visible in use); there is some marking to the surface, together with a few scratches, whilst the glass contains several small air bubbles.
