A c.1930s-50s Art Deco notebook holder, in thin sheet metal with a peach gilt plated finish, measuring approximately 18.8 x 11.5cm (7.4 x 4.55in), and 1cm (0.4in) thick at the hinge (when not holding a notepad); the exterior is finely embossed, the front having an Art Deco motif reminiscent of the Empire State Building. The metal is very slightly pushed out of shape in one or two places at the edge, and the front and back are not quite fully aligned; there is some (mostly light) scratching, together with some small marks and the occasional tiny patch of damage or wear to the plating. (Please note that we found this item unusually difficult to photograph, and therefore the colour of the actual item may be found to differ from that shown in the pictures.)
