An Art Deco perpetual desk calendar, c.1930s-50s, in chrome with black plastic trim and an attractively shiny black Bakelite / plastic base, measuring approximately 4.5cm (1.75in) in height and 14.9 x 4.75cm (5.85 x 1.85in) at the base; the date is changed by turning the chrome and plastic end knobs. There is some light scratching and slight marking to the chrome, whilst the printing of the dates and numerals is slightly worn and uneven in places, with some marks and two additional numerals added to the first date digit in blue pen. There is some scratching and age wear to the base (mostly to the underside) together with nibbling around the screw holes on the underside and some tiny nibbles to the edges, and the plastic end knobs are rather worn and marked with some nibbles and bumps to the edges; there is some corrosion and rust to the screws, and the base feels slightly loose (although the screws are tight).
