Art Deco chrome / Bakelite cupboard door / drawer handle, new old stock, c.1930s-40s (SOLD)

A lovely original Art Deco chrome cupboard door or drawer handle (one of a quantity we had for sale), in a ribbed design with an ornamental hole in one end and mottled green Bakelite trim, measuring approximately 13.6cm (5.35in) long and protruding 2.6cm (1in) when fitted (including the Bakelite).  They are new old stock, and are believed to have originally come from Australia or New Zealand.  Although unused, they are not sold as mint: there are various small imperfections to the front surfaces, and marks and yellowish areas to the sides and undersides.  There is some rust to the nuts and bolts, which may vary in length, although they remain usable; the bolts, however, unscrew from the handles and could probably be replaced with new if so desired.  The Bakelite, meanwhile, varies in shade, and may have the odd nibble or scratch.
