An "Ariel Brand Bifurcated Rivets" tin (empty) with hinged lid, c.1920s-30s, by S&D Rivet Co., Leicester, measuring approximately 5.9 x 4.7 x 1.6cm (2.3 x 1.85 x 0.65in). The tin, which originally contained 100 "Assorted No. 9" rivets, has instructions for setting printed on the inside lid. The outside of the tin is rather rusty with some age wear, and bears traces of a gilt finish now almost worn away, whilst the interior, although tarnished, has little rust.
