Arcadian "three wise monkeys" crested china ornament - "Folkestone" crest
 
An original antique / vintage Arcadian crested china ornament with "Folkestone" (port town in Kent, England) crest, representing the "three wise monkeys" ("I speak no evil, I see no evil, I hear no evil") sitting on a wall. The base of the ornament bears the "A & S / STOKE-ON-TRENT / ARCADIAN" rose and crown printed stamp, together with the printed registration number "678581", the printed retailer's stamp "MADE FOR / MAISON FARAONI / 72 HIGH ST / FOLKESTONE", and a handpainted red letter "B".
 
Although this genuine early 20th century piece has some damage to the rear base edge together with other signs of age (see condition description below), it remains nicely displayable, and would make a lovely addition to a collection of crested china, Folkestone memorabilia or monkey-related items - or a nice finishing touch for a vintage-style interior!
