An antique coloured engraving of "Truro from Kenwyn", drawn and engraved by W. Willis, Penzance, and published by Henry Besley, Exeter; undated but probably from between 1820 and 1860 - certainly before the construction of the Cathedral. The engraving, the exposed area of which measures approximately 17.2 x 12.1cm, is mounted in an old black and gilt wood frame, measuring approximately 23.8 x 18.9cm, with bevelled card mount. To the back of the frame is a Truro dealer's label together with another label guaranteeing the print to be over 100 years old; these labels themselves look quite old, perhaps 1960s. It is thus quite possible that the engraving was taken from an old book, and perhaps also had its colouring added, at this time. There is a small tear (visible length about 1cm) to the bottom centre of the engraving, together with some discolouration and general age wear; the mount is discoloured and has a small tear, and there are various spots and specks to the inside of the glass. The frame, meanwhile, has suffered from the loss of a few small pieces of gilt trim, tarnishing to the same, and general age wear; the joints appear loose but still hold together.
