A "Quick Loader" powder spray tin with internally sprung lid, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, manufactured by the American Can Company of New York, Chicago and San Francisco, and measuring approximately 11.3cm (4.45in) long including nozzle, 6.5cm (2.55in) in diameter and 3.2cm (1.25in) deep; these tins were most commonly used either as applicator guns for insect powder, or for priming firearms with gunpowder. The tin is tarnished with rust spotting throughout, with considerable rust spotting and some wear to the printed disc of the lid, and a small dent near the tip of the nozzle, whilst the flexible material of the lid is worn with splitting to the inner edge. Futhermore, the lid is very tight; in view of the above defects, we have not attempted to open it, and we are therefore selling this as a collector's item only, and not for actual use.
