Air Marshal Sir Gerald Gibbs K.B.E., C.I.E., M.C., "Survivor's Story" (London, Hutchinson & Co. Ltd, 1956). Hardback, first edition, 182pp (plus 44 illustrations), measuring approximately 14.8 x 21.8 x 2.8cm (5.85 x 8.6 x 1.1in). "Distinguished survivor of the early flying days and of many campaigns, Sir Gerald Gibbs was the last British Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Air Force. This is the story not only of his own long and exciting years of service in many parts of the world, but also of the Air Force itself, from the time of the Flying Corps to the present day." The dustjacket is very much worn, discoloured and marked with tearing, creasing, bumping and a missing portion to the top front; the blue cloth board cover is faded in parts with some fade-through of the dustjacket printing, together with bumping to the corners and very slight bumping to the edges. There is some yellowing to the pages with some light marking and foxing in places, together with a tiny tear to the front endpaper and occasional pencil marks and slight creases.
