A 1930s pottery vase of unknown manufacture, measuring approximately 15.3cm (6in) in height and 8.6cm (3.4in) in diameter at the top. The exterior is decorated with transfer designs of cottages and fruit trees / branches, upon a lilac, blue and white cloud background which itself appears to be an all-over transfer; the interior is glazed white and there is a gilt band to the rim. There is some slight wear, marking and scratching to the exterior, together with moderate wear to the gilt rim, stained crazing to the interior at the base, and some small lumps and other irregularities, marks and spots to the interior. Whilst this is a fairly ordinary piece, and not of high quality, the colouring is unusual for its period, in contrast to the oranges, browns and greens of more typical pieces, although the cottage and fruit design is very typical of the popular taste of the era.
